During this maintenance window, our Engineering team will be upgrading Cilium from the current open-source edition to Enterprise. Once the upgrade is complete, all customer environments will experience a brief loss of network connectivity as we restart services across all regions.

We are intentionally scheduling this upgrade ahead of our February 1st production launch. Upgrading to Cilium Enterprise will unlock high-availability features for key components that will enable our Engineering team to apply future changes and upgrades with zero disruption.

This upgrade has been extensively tested and we expect the impact on all customer environments to be minimal. Nonetheless, there is a small risk of extended networking interruption due to unforeseen and unknown complications.
